Course Summary

Be introduced to DIY processes to achieve publishable quality photographs of your artworks without     expensive photographic equipment.

Course Content

This is a hands-on course. You will be introduced to photography techniques by award winning                       Artist and Educator, Joel Gailer. PhD.

 Working in a studio environment, learn how to photograph your artwork. Find out how to identify       appropriate lighting at different locations using natural light, be introduced to your camera settings,               learn how to set your aperture and shutter speeds.

 You will then be guided through the post-production stage, learn how to process your images, file              transfer, Photoshop and image processing and the correct formats for exhibitions, prizes and grant    applications.

Outcomes

This short course will enable you to create high quality photographs of your own work in any                     location.

Prerequisites

No experience is necessary, however, you must own or borrow a basic DSLR.

Material Required

  •    DSLR or basic digital camera
  •    Tripod (if possible)
  • Notebook and pen(cil)
  • 2d or 3d Artwork to photograph
  • laptop (if possible)

Skill Level

No prior knowledge is required. This workshop encourages participation from all age groups.
